Perseverance, the Mars rover of NASA, has been looking for signs of life on the planet since last February and it has found something very impressive.
As scientists say, it has collected various rock types from the red planet which contain organic matter in high amounts.

A scientist involved in the perseverance project has revealed that the amount of organic matter found in the rocks is the highest concentration ever found on Mars.
These samples that carried organic matter were picked up from the Jezero Crater, an area of Mars known to have housed ancient lakes.

Organic matter was also found by Perseverance’s older sibling Curiosity but this time it’s found at a place where life seem to have existed at one point of time.

The found organic matter, as claimed by scientists, in high probability is stable carbon and hydrogen molecules, which may mean that it’s a sulphate mineral.

Carbon is the main component of all organic matter on Earth too. Thus, the organic matter found on Mars well could signify life on Mars.
