NASA’s DART Mission To Deliberately Collide With An Asteroid

NASA is going to affect a deliberate collision of its spacecraft with an asteroid under its DART mission and it is inching closer towards its target.

 The spacecraft is being struck into the asteroid to study how it affects the movement of the asteroid.

The spacecraft’s target is asteroid Didymos’ tiny moon Dimorphos that currently orbits the asteroid.

There are no threats to Earth from these sets of asteroids which makes them perfect targets for carrying out the DART mission.
