A mammoth 390-Foot Asteroid To Come At Striking Distance From Earth

As NASA prepares to put its DART mission spacecraft into an asteroid to study how its motion gets affected, a giant space body is racing towards Earth.

The asteroid with the name 2005 RX3 is expected to come extremely close to Earth and has been horrifying the imagination of scientists.

It is expected to come as close as 2.95 million miles to Earth and the question is whether it can cause any harm to Earth.

According to scientists, any asteroid that comes anywhere around 4.6 million miles from Earth is at least 150 meters in size and is potentially dangerous.

Also, as the asteroid comes closer and closer, it may be nudged towards Earth, increasing the chances of it smashing into our planet.

Fortunately, NASA, which keeps a close eye on such incidents, is saying that the chances of the asteroid hitting Earth is negligible.
