Set & Achieve Goals

 

Life is all about setting goals and achieving them. Goals are a bunch of reasons to live which when achieved make our life more meaningful. We have targets regarding everything we do. From getting up in the morning at a certain time to eating a balanced diet & remaining fit to doing the type of work that will give us the life of our dreams, everything is done with a purpose, intent & an overarching goal. We have a secret desire even regarding things we are not directly involved in. We want our friends and family to always be happy, our favourite soccer team to win every single time and our favourite leader to lead our nation for as long as possible. So, goals are a natural part & symbol of a healthy and vibrant life. 

 

If we don’t have targets and goals, life will pass away very quickly without us achieving any significant place in the story of mankind. But the same will happen even when we don’t achieve our set targets & goals. Missing any goal gives us frustration, trauma & agony. This life is a privilege and we need to make the most of it by achieving our set of  goals. So, the more number of goals we set & achieve, the better we organise our life putting us on the path to a successful life.

Setting goals is easy but achieving them is a tricky affair. People build big goals in life but fail to act in the right manner which gives them repeated failures. The biggest mistake they commit is trying too hard to fulfil their goals. When we try too hard to make something work, we  become desperate and desperation is not healthy for making things easier or bringing them closer to us. In fact, Desperation repels goals! It makes us see the goal but keeps us unwilling to get fully involved in its journey. And when we are not willing, open and excited about the journey to our goal, we are not open to constant learning and improvement without which we can’t take our next steps. Lack of learning & improvement makes progress difficult. It makes us lose vision & confidence and generates self-doubt & confusion which makes us enter & stay in a vicious circle of hopelessness & ignorance throughout our lives. This takes us progressively away from our goal, making it more and more difficult to achieve them. So, the first thing we need to realise and learn is not to push too hard towards our goals as balance holds the key to achieving anything.

Building & maintaining balance becomes easy when we embrace acceptance as balance is already ingrained in acceptance. This is because the whole creation is already built with a purpose to ensure our survival, improvement & progress. Everything is already working in our favour naturally. But when we start trying too hard to fulfil things, we actually start acting against our own selves and against our own interest. What we need is to accept things and let them unfold in their own unique, organic & beautiful ways! To become an agent of Nature rather than a force acting against it. Today, man is against Nature only because of their lack of acceptance of it and their will to try harder to achieve their goals! We just need to give a minimal amount of effort towards our goals and the rest will be taken care of by Nature & the universe. And this minimal effort starts when we start accepting life as it is.

Acceptance is the first positive step towards achieving any goal. It helps us make peace with what we actually have and find happiness in our current situation. Acceptance can safely be seen as a synonym of bliss because the latter cannot happen in the absence of the former. When we have embraced acceptance, are we truly open and balanced in our efforts towards our goals. It gives us utmost clarity with respect to the course of action we need to take to achieve our goals. And since, acceptance and balance optimise the amount of work we need to do, we can do this work with full energy, enthusiasm and vigour which further increases our chances to achieve our goals. Also, when we accept our situation and our endowments, we can turn even nothing into anything & everything! 

 

Acceptance helps us realise our true potential and the true worth of everything we are endowed with. And once this realisation happens, we can achieve any goal irrespective of the quantity of resources we have with us. To summarise, Acceptance ends our desperation for achieving our goals which brings them closer and within our reach without too much effort.

 

 

 

Conclusion : No Goal is Big Enough!

 

People think that they failed to achieve their goals because their goals were too big. But this is never the truth! No goal is big enough as human-beings are capable of achieving anything they want. The problem is that we try too hard to achieve our goals which makes even small targets look like giant & impossible mountains to climb. So, set as big goals as you want to but instead of constraining them with expectations & desperation, fuel them with balance and acceptance so that the whole universe can contribute to the process of achievement of your goals! Become infinitely accepting to receive limitless rewards from Nature & the universe!
